Welcome to my blog! This is a place for me to write and share with family, friends and those who stumble upon our story. The most recent story begins in November 2011 with the "July 11th" post. The prequel to this story began back in June 2011 with the "The making of CCA" post.

Vaca Part 8: Night Tour

My cousin shared how much he enjoyed seeing the monuments and memorials all lite up at night, so he and the family took us on a personal tour of the lights. We started at the Lincoln, which was just gorgeous!

My cousin tried to get a photo of us with the Washington in the background...but it didn't quite work.

From the steps of the Lincoln, we admired the Washington as it reflected in the pool.

We then walked through the Vietnam and Korean, but my photos did not turn out as well there. The memorials were lovely in the dark, so solemn. Seeing them with a soldier brought new meaning and understanding as well. Then on to the Martin Luther King Memorial, which overlooks the Tidal Basin.

And walking the path around the basin to the East, through the FDR Memorial. The fountains were lovely in the lights.

The next piece:  The Air & Space Museums
