Part of my clarity challenge this year was identifying the extended purpose for this blog. I want to write, to share my heart, my experiences, my thoughts and maybe someone would like to read them. But it is also part of my legacy. One day my great grandchildren might read this and there are certain things I want them to know. Grandma lived life, she loved deeply and cherished moments with her family.
This year I have invested more time and energy into play dates with the children...dress up, tea parties, art days.
Watching my children grow these friendships has been exciting, as has the relationships I have grown with the parents. I think this is another one of those "doesn't have to be a ten year commitment" clarification. These friends are in our lives right now, sharing our journey where our paths have crossed. We are enjoying them greatly.
I also spent some time this summer on landscaping. It seems there is never "extra" money to spend on fixing up the yard, but after four years, it seemed time to do something. I redid the boarder, planted a few lilacs and bushes and split some hosta from my sister's yard. It isn't much, but it felt good to move forward on this front.
And one more quick memory. My uncle and cousin came for a short visit from Texas. It is always good to reconnect with family and document the moments with a few photos. Oh, how everyone is growing up so fast!
