Some of our conversations and thought processing left more questions and something that definitely wasn't clarity! I found that sometimes I had to move forward with a tentative plan and test the waters, if you will, to see where things lined up and where they didn't.
For example: I took a break from a volunteer ministry that I absolutely love, but felt I needed to give my family the time. I want to clarify that I really do love volunteering and especially with this ministry. I felt sure they were to be a priority, but was trying to clarify where and how this piece fit. I moved it further down my priority list and gave the time to family and extended family.
What I found was that I needed to be involved in this ministry and my family operates more effectively when I have this interaction during the week. There may still be times to take a break, but I was unaware of how important this was to our household. This process made that clear. This spring I am moving it higher up the list.
Clarity may not be found on a piece of paper...sometimes it may be found taking steps of faith, trusting that most decisions don't have to be permanent. Every decision doesn't come with a 10 year commitment!
