Tractors aren't just for boys...in fact when we rented this tractor for some yard work last month, the boys didn't want to come out for a photo op. The girls had fun chillaxin' and being cute!
AND...we are experimenting with different ways of braiding and curling and styling R's hair. She is excited to try new things with it. Here is one of our most time consuming ideas. We put in eight braids at bedtime and took them out in the morning to create a really neat wave. Of course, I can't show you, because mommy forgot to take a picture of it before we left the house and it was mostly gone when we got home that night. But she enjoyed it!
Welcome to my blog! This is a place for me to write and share with family, friends and those who stumble upon our story. The most recent story begins in November 2011 with the "July 11th" post. The prequel to this story began back in June 2011 with the "The making of CCA" post.

Super Suppers - the R edition
A while back, I posted about the kids making dinner one night a week and shared photos of J making homemade pizza. They have all made some yummy meals and are learning so much. Today, I want to share photos of R making homemade noodles for chicken noodle soup. She did about 80% of the meal by herself (mommy helped with the boiling water and finally spices).

PINK!!!!
My girls are in love with their newest cousin, a girl cousin (after two adorable little boy cousins). Recently all three of them arrived at church wrapped in pink so we had fun taking some photos of the girls! Little one cooperated for a few photos, then the my girls and I went outside for some more. There are some pretty precious girls in this extended family!

Replacing the Playset (part 1)
Ah! The outdoors, wood and power tools...there's nothing quite like it! Memorial Day was spend dodging raindrops and mud puddles, but we still managed to enjoy a bbq dinner and get a good start on the playset. The kids have helped plan it, pick out the equipment and even help with the construction. We have more to do...but wanted to show off the process!
Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma, Grandma, Uncle David and Aunt Liz, Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Shana, Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Elise, and cousins for all your love, help and support!
All smiles!

May Birthday (part 2)
Busy, busy month for our family. Not only is our third child's birthday in May, but so is Ben's Dad's birthday and Ben's Mom's birthday, as well as Ben's Brother-in-law's birthday and my Dad's birthday. We had all of Ben's family over one night for dinner and cake and ice cream and another cake and a crisp...yummy!
We lined everyone up with candles on cakes and sang and sang and sang! Moments like this bring smiles to our faces and joy to our hearts.
Now on to June...with only two family birthdays. Phew! ;)

May Birthday (part 1)
My little boy is growing up! How on earth can A be seven already? He has so much fun with life, legos and video games (preferably with a partner). He asked for a simple party with a Batman theme because he has decided he wants to be a hero when he grows up (Batboy, to be specific). I love that he sees rescuing and protecting people as a worthy employment. :)
Happy Birthday A!

Spring Tea Fun!
Spring took it's time arriving this year, so my daughters and I decided to have a Spring Tea and celebrate the end of winter whether the weather cooperated or not! We made iced tea and lemonade, little sandwiches and cookies, a lovely tray of fresh veggies and one of fruits and R made some scrumptious chocolate cupcakes!
The weather decided to cooperate with us, at least for the day. We had sun shine and warm temps. I was able to get some fresh flowers to compliment the artificial ones I had gotten (just in case). Several family, friends and neighbors came to enjoy the day with us.
While we had everyone here, we decided to have an official launch for the businesses R and I had started this past year. We had a ribbon cutting and toast with sparkling juice!
R is selling Origami Owl Living Lockets. She loves telling different stories with the various charms, plates and dangles available and she is excited to help others tell their stories too! Check out her website.
I am a Norwex consultant, selling natural cleaning and body care products. I have loved switching our home from chemicals to professional micro-fiber cloths and organic supplies. These products are still relatively new to the United States and they have just opened an office and distribution center in Dallas, TX. Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask me or search my site.
Thanks to everyone who brightened up a gloomy spring and supported me and my daughter.

Picture a Month (May)
This post is a few days (ok, weeks) late, but here is my photo from May. I chose to take this photo at the House of Hope on their beautiful front porch on the last night of the class I was facilitating this spring!
Any suggestions for June's photo?
