Welcome to my blog! This is a place for me to write and share with family, friends and those who stumble upon our story. The most recent story begins in November 2011 with the "July 11th" post. The prequel to this story began back in June 2011 with the "The making of CCA" post.

Childhood Memories

...are so much fun to make! Last month we took the children road tripping through the midwest. We saw lots of beautiful country and many dear friends along the way. We started driving north and made a stop in Minnesota to see some precious peeps and then we headed west through South Dakota.

In 2004, we took our oldest two children to see Mt. Rushmore, but they were really too little to remember. We kept this stop quick (we didn't stop at the Badlands or Wall Drug or Crazy Horse) but thoroughly enjoyed our few hours with the presidents.

We made the effort to see the monument at night when it is lit up. It was so cold, that we almost gave up, but I'm glad we can say we've seen it.

I had fun taking photos of my kiddos with all the lovely rock and pillars.

A bus load of tourists (most spoke French and Italian as a first language) arrived just in time to see all of us American's fully intrigued by this lovely mountain goat traipsing through the monument grounds. They all followed suit and came to look and take their own photos. Here we are at a huge monument crafted in the face of a mountain...and we are photographing a goat! Welcome to America! :)

This trip has too many highlights to share all at once. There is lots more to come!
